Project Description
To be irreplaceable one must always be different…
The editor and stylist Carine Roitfled is famous for her provocative work as editor of French Vogue (a position she held for 10 years), Having resigned from Vogue, Carine founded CR Fashion Book and its men’s title, CR Men’s Book in 2011.
LC have joined forces with Carine Roitfeld to produce and distribute CR Fashion Book and to provide supporting digital services, including online subscription services. “We’re proud to work with such as esteemed publication and have taken up the challenge of driving forward the quality of production, growing the distribution and improving the quality of service to subscribers. Our unwavering focus is to ensure CR Fashion Book stands out, looks and feels different and that it leads from the front.” enthused Greig Scott, Managing Director of LC.
Over the years, CR Fashion Book has established a reputation for big things — like that knockout Rihanna editorial, as seen in Sept. 2016’s Issue 9. “The need to deliver impact, a quality finish and punchy imagery is exactly the sort of challenge we enjoy.” adds Greig. This latest issue, which utilises four covers and includes collaborations with Celine Dion and Kim Kardashian, has demanded extreme attention to detail to achieve the desired impact.
Issue 15
On newsstands from September 2019, LC have produced the 15th edition of CR Fashion Book which stars music icon Céline Dion – long known for her privacy – delighting in a new-found experimental spirit, and models of the moment Remington Williams and Lara Mullen in a fashion portfolio by Steven Klein about the secret life of the bourgeois.
Elsewhere inside CR Fashion Book Issue 15, Carine pens a deeply personal letter to the late Karl Lagerfeld in the form of a fashion homage, resurfacing one-of-a-kind pieces from Chanel’s archives to honor his legacy. Newcomer Leyna Bloom discusses being the first transgender woman of color to star in a movie at the Cannes Film Festival. Judith Light, ‘Making a Murderer’ attorney Kathleen Zellner, Nixon impeacher Elizabeth Holtzman, and eight other inspiring women share thoughts on talent, conviction, and substance. There is an exclusive look into Rick Owens‘ mysterious headquarters in a tiny Italian town; and much more.
The issue explores the effect that personal environments and circumstances have on our own presentations to the world. And, perhaps more so, how, as Carine says: “in the pursuit and the maintenance of [both], we push each one to its extreme, creating and accepting our own versions of reality.”
CRFashionBook.com
Alongside her steller work with CR Fashion Book, Carine Roitfeld signed on with Hearst as Harper’s Bazaar’s global fashion director, and the industry icon has furthered this relationship to support crfashionbook.com. Carine was quick to understand the importance of digital channels, and this has not been overlooked. While CR Fashion Book and CRFashionBook.com maintain their own editorial staff under Editor-in-Chief Roitfeld; CR Fashion Book work closely with Hearst to drive their online performance.
“I love working with the editors and executives at Hearst Magazines; I trust them and they trust me,” Roitfeld said in a release. “I have the freedom to express myself creatively and reach tens of millions of readers around the world in Harper’s Bazaar, and I have found a home where CR Fashion Book can continue grow and thrive, both in print and online.”
Hearst host CRFashionBook.com on its in-house publishing platform, MediaOS, and will also manage the site’s advertising, taking on the task of monetizing the title’s digital and social media content and syndication across Hearst Magazines’ digital portfolio. LC provide digital subscription pages that mould seamlessly into the website. “Supporting your supporters and subscribers is so important and we are delighted to be delivering a high quality service to CR Fashion Book’s fanatical base” states Mark Wilding, Head of Digital & Insight at LC.
CR Fashion Book Ltd
In addition to Roitfeld’s partnership with Hearst, CR Fashion Book has formed a group, CR Fashion Book Ltd., which is led by Roitfeld’s son Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, and publishes the book’s biannual print component. CR Fashion Book’s longtime publisher Jorge Garcia supervises advertising sales for print. “What a team..! We are really enjoying working with such a talented team and ensuring this fantastic publication leads from the front.” enthuses Greig.
